Itinerary
On arrival at Maun International Airport after clearing customs and immigration, guests will be met and assisted with a connection onto a scheduled charter flight to Duba Plains camps where they will stay for 3 nights on fully inclusive basis.
Duba Plains is built on an island in the Okavango Delta, shaded by large ebony, fig and mangosteen trees and surrounded by expansive plains which are seasonally flooded. Duba is highly recommended for guests interested in predator interaction, as it is known for the titanic clashes between buffalo and lions. The activities at Duba Plains Camp concentrate on day and night game drives, guided walks, motorised boating and catch-and-release fishing. Mokoro trips are also possible during good floods – usually only between May and September. This pristine area is home to lions, leopards, lechwe, tsessebe, warthog, elephant and huge herds of buffalo. In addition, the Duba area has productive spotted hyena dens that offer great hyena pup viewing, while aardwolf sightings are one of the specialties of Duba Plains. Birding is excellent at Duba Plains, and most of the Okavango Delta's renowned birdlife can be found in the area, including swamp boubou, Hartlaub's babbler and swamp nightjar. At certain times of the year, the abundance of water birds along the flooded areas and water pans is exceptional when a multitude of herons, egrets, lapwings and jacanas are seen.
