Itinerary

From Maun Airport, guests will be met and assisted with a connection onto a light aircraft flight to a breathtaking Eagle Island Lodge for a 3 stay on fully inclusive basis.

Eagle Island Lodge is situated on the island of Xaxaba and surrounded by Illala Palms, Eagle Island Lodge overlooks a lagoon fed by the tranquil waterways of the Okavango Delta. This area offers high quality wildlife viewing with prolific birdlife and mammal sightings. Well known at the Eagle Island Lodge is the romantic Fish Eagle Bar, where guests can enjoy a drink or dinner while enjoying a spectacular sunset over the African wilderness. During the months of April through October, Eagle Island Lodge offers a choice of game viewing by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe), motorized boats and sundowner barges to the surrounding lagoons. When water levels are low (December through March), morning, afternoon and evening game drives are offered in open 4x4 vehicles. Guided safari walks are offered all year around on the surrounding islands.  The main fish species is Tilapia, commonly known as bream in Botswana. Fresh water pike and cat fish are also common in the Delta. Basic rods and reels are available in the lodge. Please note Eagle Island practices fishing strictly on a ‘catch and release’ basis.
