Old Drift Lodge
Bordering Zambezi National Park, Victoria Falls
The Old Drift is situated only 7 km from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe overlooking Zambezi National Park. The lodge is small, with only 14 rooms – 10 double suites and 4 family suites – perfectly built facing the Zambezi River. Old Drift Lodge suites are canvas made and offer guests a luxury setting from which to enjoy the view. With an outdoor bath and a private plunge pool, star bed guests are spoilt for choice when deciding where to relax or even where to sleep. Each air-conditioned family suite comprises two inter-leading ensuite bedrooms.
The main area of the Old Drift Lodge has an enviable 360-view. Its south side faces the waterhole frequented by elephants, while the north side faces the river. Guests enjoy their meals in the lodge dining area, while near the jetty is a reading corner. A fire pit in the open area is where guests can relax or sit to share the day's stories or enjoy a coffee in the morning before departing for a sunrise cruise. Sunset cruises depart from the jetty, perfect for private dinners, honeymoon couples or guests wanting an exclusive dining experience while staying at Old Drift Lodge.
Activities
With its proximity to Victoria Falls town, Old Drift Lodge offers daily transfers for guests wishing to do additional activities. There is a wide range of activities that guests can experience while staying at Old Drift Lodge, including morning or afternoon game drives, river cruises and guided walking safaris. All offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create wonderful memories as guests explore the Zambezi National Park by road, river or on foot. Afternoon game drives allow guests to have a beautifully set beach picnic along the banks of the Zambezi River, where guests can sit and relax while enjoying canapes and watching the sunset. A guided tour of the falls is followed by lunch at the Lookout Café, opposite the falls' entrance, offering beautiful views of the gorge. Zambezi National Park offers an unforgettable experience and diverse game such as buffalo, herds of sable, eland, zebra, giraffe and waterbuck.
