VICTORIA FALLS
Along the zambezi river
Victoria Falls lies along the Zambezi River, forming a border between Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana. The gateway to the great Mosi-oa-Tunya (the smoke that thunders), commonly known as 'the falls', this natural wonder produces great sprays of mist while displaying beautiful rainbows due to the endless waterfalls. It is perfect for visiting between July and December. Victoria Falls offers guests a plethora of activities, including sunrise and sunset boat cruises on the Zambezi River, scenic helicopter flights over Victoria Falls and, of course, a tour of the fall's rainforest and waterfall. Guests who desire excitement can participate in adrenaline activities such as bungee jumping, gorge swinging, and zip lining over the Victoria Falls gorges. For guests wishing to enjoy the lighter side of the town, a walk around the curio market, afternoon tea at Victoria Falls Hotel, or a drink in the café overlooking the gorge are pleasant ways to pass to time.
Victoria Falls is accessible by road and air: road transfers from Botswana and Zambia, scheduled and private, run daily, and there are regular domestic and international flights in and out of Victoria Falls Airport. Its proximity to the Zambezi National Park, located upstream from Victoria Falls, offers guests a perfect opportunity to see wild animals, such as elephants, kudus, giraffes and antelopes, during game drives and nature walk safaris . Victoria Falls has numerous lodges available to accommodate guests looking to explore the destination.
