Hwange National Park is situated south of Victoria Falls and is Zimbabwe's largest national park. This area is well known for its huge elephant population of more than 24000 and large herds of buffalos. In addition, Hwange has over 100 species of mammals, such as zebra, wildebeest, wild dogs and lion, plus a variety of birds, including kori bustard and Bradfield's hornbill. The dry season is from June to October when the game concentrates around the waterholes providing guests with excellent opportunities to see animals. Hwange National Park is accessible by road (4x4 is required during the rainy season) or air on domestic flights..
