East of the Luangwa River
South Luangwa National Park is east of the Luangwa River and is home to grassland, wetland and wild animals dominated by leopards, kudus, giraffes, as well as lions and hyenas. Hippos and crocodiles can also be seen in the Luangwa River. For bird enthusiasts, there are over 400 species recorded, including yellow-billed storks and sacred ibis. Safari experiences include day and night game drives and walking safaris. Game viewing is best in the dry season, from June to October. Although driving is also possible, Luangwa National Park is generally accessed by light aircraft from Lusaka Airport.
Chikunto Safari Lodge
Chikunto Safari Lodge is located within the South Luangwa National Park and accommodates a maximum of 12 people in 4 spacious en suite luxury double or twin tented suites and a 2 bedroomed tented family suite with a shared communal space with views of the dense vegetation and riverbanks with an opportunity to see wildlife.

Mfuwe Lodge is built around two lagoons under the shade of ebony and mahogany trees and operates all year round . Mfuwe Lodge offers 18 air-conditioned guest chalets comprising 13 twin or double rooms, 2 suites and 3 family rooms. Each room has a private verandah offering amazing bushveld views surrounding the lodge. An outdoor gym can be accessed during siesta time, or guests can dip in the swimming pool by the main area, enjoy a siesta in their chalet, read a book in the lounge area, or sit on the deck during the quiet time of the day. A spa and library overlook the riverbed.
Kukaya
KuKaya is situated in pristine bush overlooking permanent water holes approximately 10 minutes from the main gate of the South Lungwa National Park. KuKaya has 5 double and 1 single thatched tents. Each unit has a living and dining area and a private deck offering guests flexibility and choice on where to enjoy their meals. In addition, each unit has its own plunge pool, pizza oven, fire pit, and braai.
