Sitatunga Private Island is located within the NG32 Concession in the Okavango Delta. The camp is well built on an elevated platform surrounding the deck overlooking the floodplain. Sitatunga Private Island blends well with the natural landscape of the Okavango Delta and sleeps up to 8 guests in 2 large-tented suites and a 2 bedroomed Sitatunga Private Island Suite. All suites feature ensuite bathroom facilities, private verandah, private lounge area as well as an outdoor seating area and private swimming pool. The interiors are well decorated with a color palette that is visible when looking out over the Okavango misty vegetation and pale white forests. The main area features a communal dining area and a sitting lounge area as well as fire-pit area connected by a walkway deck.
Activities
Sitatunga Private Island is predominately water-based activity camp and offers water activities Additionally, the camp offers seasonal catch and release fishing experiences. This private island is one of the few locations where one can still see the rare aquatic antelope from camp and by boat, which is the main activity here in addition to walking on the island and mokoro excursions. The area is quite rich in birding. Guests may spot elephants, crocodiles and hippos during the safari activities. The Sitatunga Private Island Suite has a professional camera set, including a camera body, lenses and pair of binoculars for guest to use. Photos will be downloaded to a USB upon guest departure.
