kwara
Private Kwara Concession in the northern Okavango Delta adjacent to Moremi
The Kwara Concession shares a common boundary with the Moremi Game Reserve and consists of large lagoon channels lined by papyrus, shallow floodplains, mopane woodlands and dry, open scrub. Guests can enjoy a diverse wildlife experience year-round, but the focus is the water.
Kwara consists of 9 en suite tents built on raised teak decks, with viewing decks overlooking a vast floodplain – the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Each tent has en suite facilities, while the honeymoon suite has its own special bathroom with an antique ball and claw bath.
The main thatched lodge at Kwara is slightly raised and allows great views over the shallow lagoon. Guests can relax in the lounge and keep an eye out for the animals coming to drink. Adjacent to the lounge, also with lagoon views, is a large open-sided dining hall. A plunge pool is set on a decked area where guests can relax on sun loungers. Between the lodge and the lagoon is the boma, where a fire is lit in the early mornings and evenings; this is a magical spot to enjoy a drink after supper and listen to the sounds of the African night.
