Duma Tau has 8 large, walk-in thatched tents on raised wooden decks, each with an outdoor lounge area with a sala and plunge pool, en suite facilities and a separate outdoor shower. The canvas walls allow guests to enjoy the night sounds of Africa from the comfort and safety of their beds. In addition, Duma Tau has 1 family tent with two bedrooms, both with en suite.
Duma Tau Camp lies under a shady grove of mangosteen trees raised to overlook a large hippo-filled lagoon. The main lodge, linked to the rooms by winding boardwalks and includes the dining room, bar and lounge, has open sides for 360-degree views of the lagoon and surrounding landscape. The swimming pool is a popular spot in the heat of the day, and at night the campfire is a perfect place to enjoy the stars and re-live the day's events with fellow guests.
Linyanti Wildlife Reserve has habitat diversity making it a haven for wildlife. It is well-known for its elephant concentrations, congregating along the waterways and lagoons during the dry winter months. General wildlife viewing is excellent year-round, including impala, wildebeest, red lechwe, Burchell's zebra, giraffe, Cape buffalo, chacma baboon, vervet monkey and warthog. In addition, predator sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs and spotted hyenas are good. Wildlife viewing is conducted at Duma Tau on day and night game drives and on walking or boat safaris (water levels permitting). Nature walks can be done along the Linyanti River and Savuti Channel, while the camp's boat takes guests along the waters of the Linyanti, where hippos and waterfowl abound. There are also a number of platforms and hides from which to view and photograph animals and birds. One of the best hides is right at the source of the Savuti, where many species of game and birdlife can usually be seen.
