Chobe Game Lodge

Serondela, Chobe National Park, northern Botswana

The Chobe National Park has excellent game viewing both on and beside the Chobe River. Built along the banks of the Chobe River and the only permanent game lodge situated within the park along the Chobe River, Chobe Game Lodge is a perfect base to explore the Chobe National Park.

The architecture at Chobe Game Lodge is Moorish, with high arches, barrel-vault ceilings and tiled floors, creating an ambience of space and tranquillity. Enjoy magnificent wildlife sightings in the Chobe National Park and retire to the comfort of your luxurious lodge.

Chobe Game Lodge has 44 river-facing rooms, each with a private terrace. The rooms are fully air-conditioned, with an en suite bathroom and a complimentary minibar. In addition, Chobe Game Lodge has four luxury suites, each with a private swimming pool set on a secluded terrace with breathtaking panoramic views of the Chobe River and Zambezi Region (formerly Caprivi) floodplains.

Chobe Game Lodge facilities include a riverside boma where traditional dancers perform and a large swimming pool. For guests wanting to keep in touch, broadband internet access is available at the Tshwene Bar, a fashionable cigar bar with a champion-sized billiard table and an outside terrace overlooking the Chobe River. Chobe Game Lodge also has a wildlife reference library, lounge, and terrace, along with a fully equipped and air-conditioned conference room that seats up to 100 people. Meals can be enjoyed at the terrace restaurant overlooking the Chobe River or the riverside boma (weather-dependent), while an in-house beautician and gym are available for guests wanting a massage or a private workout.

Activities

Chobe Game Lodge is the only lodge in northern Botswana with electric boats, and nearly half their fleet of game-drive vehicles is electric . Not only does this make a more positive environmental impact, but guests can truly appreciate the sounds of Africa whilst game viewing. Game drives in open-air 4x4 safari vehicles are a great way of spotting lions, wild dogs, elephants, buffalo, puku, red lechwe, sable and roan antelope. For the ultimate Chobe experience, set out on a sunset cruise down the Chobe River and enjoy spectacular views of wildlife that congregate at the water's edge with an unforgettable African sunset as a backdrop. These boat cruises are conducted in small, shallow draft, highly manoeuvrable, and, more importantly, silent and electric boats piloted by expert boatmen. The Mosi-oa-Tunya, a double-decker river cruiser with an onboard bar and snacks, is a popular way to view wildlife. Resident professional guides and environmentalists offer star-gazing presentations on the stargazing deck.
