Thamo Telele, formerly known as Royal Tree Lodge, is a small intimate lodge situated on a private game farm about 15 minutes from the centre of Maun. Thamo Telele is an ideal stopover for guests that require a night in Maun at the beginning or end of a safari.

Thamo Telele has 9 spacious luxury safari-style tents and 2 thatched chalets surrounded by a forest of leadwood and acacia trees. Each tent has en suite bathrooms with a private outdoor shower and is raised on wooden decks with hardwood floors and a small veranda in the front. Tents have solid wooden doors and large gauze windows with canvas flaps which can be rolled down at night. The chalets are thatched with a large circular bath and a unique outside shower looking out onto the forest.

Thamo Telele's main area is a large, semi-circular, open-plan thatched building which houses a spacious lounge and bar. Large glass windows overlook the outside deck where dinner is often served. The interior of the building is beautifully decorated in earthy tones and African prints. There are polished wooden floors and rugs, African carvings and masks on the walls and large clay pots. The front of Thamo Telele is bordered by a large teak deck, which surrounds two enormous trees – a leadwood and a bird plum, from which the lodge derived its original Setswana name of Motsentsela. The dining room has a long wooden table made up of a few smaller tables that can be separated for individual dining. The small swimming pool, with its deck and sun loungers, is perfect for relaxing before or after a long flight.
