Deception Valley Lodge has an ethnic African theme and was built to fit into the surrounding bush without altering or detracting from the natural ambience and colour. Guests can experience the vastness of the Kalahari and share in the knowledge of the Bushmen who have inhabited Botswana for at least 30,000 years. The cultural walks, guided by the Bushmen, remain the highlight at this luxury safari lodge.
Deception Valley Lodge has 8 stylish, thatched bungalows raised on stilts. Each unit has an en suite Victorian-style bathroom, an outside shower and a spacious lounge with a private deck overlooking the Kalahari bush with its endless open spaces. Each bungalow is connected to the main lodge by wooden walkways. The Kalahari Manor suite comprises 2 master bedrooms, both en suite, with a large, open-plan lounge and a covered veranda extending the entire length of the suite. The Manor is run independently of the main lodge and has its own chef, guide and vehicle making this an excellent choice for families or friends travelling together.
The central area is decorated in warm Kalahari colours, making use of Bushmen and other local African artefacts. The lounge and dining areas overlook a small waterhole and are excellent places to view the wildlife that comes to drink during the day. A boma for night-time dining affords amazing views across the clear night skies, and consequently, stargazing is spectacular from the lodge.
