lower zambezi national park
Along the Zambezi River
Lower Zambezi National Park runs along the Zambezi River, bordering Zimbabwe's Mana Pools National Park. This UNESCO world heritage site has some of the best wildlife sightings in the world. It is a renowned area for its leopard population and huge herds of elephants and is undoubtedly one of the destinations best explored on foot. Additional game activities are river boating cruises, game drives, canoeing safaris, and fishing through various camps and lodges in the park. The seemingly untouched flora and the lack of fencing allow creatures to roam freely around the national park meaning guests can expect to see zebras, giraffes, wild dogs, hippos, sunbathing crocodiles on the riverbanks or lions feeding on buffalo. In addition, lower Zambezi is an excellent year-round birding destination.
Amanzi Camp
Amanzi Camp is perfectly situated on the edge of a high bank above a channel of the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park. It offers a wonderful, intimate experience of the wild. Explore the mighty Zambezi River for some exceptional fishing experiences as well as an abundance of highly concentrated flora and fauna.
Royal Zambezi Lodge
Royal Zambezi Lodge is a luxurious tented camp built from thatched grass overlooking the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi region and offering a unique wilderness experience. There is a variety of activities offered at Royal Zambezi Lodge, including game drives, bush walks, hiking, canoeing, boat cruises, and fishing, as well as birding with over 300 species of birds recorded, such as the African fish eagle, the African pitta and the Narina trogon, seen during the early rainy season.
