Thorntree River Lodge is on the banks of the Zambezi River inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, upriver from Victoria Falls. This contemporary, well-designed lodge offers 8 rooms and 2 interleading units perfect for families travelling with children. All the rooms have en suite facilities as well as a private plunge pool.
Thorntree River Lodge's main area looks out across the imposing Zambezi River and houses an open-plan lounge and dining area where meals are served. In front, the communal deck includes the boma area with outdoor seating, while the adjacent infinity pool offers additional space for guests to sit and relax during siesta time or have pre or post-dinner drinks to catch up on the day's experiences.
Activities
While staying at Thorntree River Lodge, guests will visit Victoria Falls, paddle through the waters on a canoeing safari, and enjoy sunset river cruises on the Zambezi River, where they can enjoy some fishing. Land-based activities in the park include game drives, birding safari and a rhino tracking experience. Guests can also participate in more cultural activities with visits to the Livingstone Museum, Simonga villa, and the Maramba and Makuni markets. From nature walks around camp and storytelling to cultural arts and crafts, Thorntree River Lodge's children-focused Ngwana Club creates a fun and educational environment for children on safari.
