the hide safari camp

Private concession inside Hwange National Park

The Hide Safari Camp is situated in Hwange National Park, surrounded by thick trees and overlooking a waterhole, offering a wide range of activities and allowing guests to explore this beautiful and unique area.

Each of the 10 spacious luxury tents at The Hide, including family and honeymoon tents, is configured slightly differently, making each room unique. The rooms have been beautifully designed from thatched grass and covered with canvas. The verandah with chairs and a tea table is where guests can sit and unwind while enjoying the bush views and wildlife coming to drink at the waterhole

In addition to the main lodge, The Hide Safari Camp also offers 3 exceptional and exciting accommodation and booking options:

Tom's Little Hide is a 3-bedroom, self-contained safari house capable of sleeping up to 10 people (6 adults and 4 children) therefore perfect for shared family safari exploration and can take children of all ages.

The Private Hide is a separate, private main area which offers incredible 360-degree views of Hwange with a nearby waterhole attracting game as well as including a secluded dinner experience, perfect for families or friends wanting a little more exclusivity during their stay.

Lastly, The Dove's Nest is a couple's retreat perfect for honeymooners. 10 minutes from camp, this rustic sleepout tree house overlooks the open vlei and waterhole, which attracts game, including giraffes and elephants.

The Hide Safari Camp is made up of upper and lower main areas. The lower deck area houses a plunge pool near the sun lounge and dining area, while upstairs, guests can enjoy the elevated views from the comfortable lounge where guests can enjoy afternoon tea. The Hide Main Lodge, Tom's Little Hide and The Private Hide have their own main areas, comprising a lounge area, dining area, fire pit area and swimming pool.

Activities

Due to its location on a private concession, staying at The Hide Safari Camp allows guests to participate in myriad activities. Guests can explore Hwange with the traditional game drive activities in the morning or afternoon with a chance to enjoy a bush picnic or a sundowner. Bush walk safaris offer a more personal experience with nature as guests get to appreciate the African natural beauty while spotting birds and animals such as giraffes in their natural inhabitant. Alternatively, guests can stay closer to camp and experience the camp's underground hide, accessible from the main camp via a tunnel, meaning guests do not need a guide to accompany them and can access it anytime. Exploring Hwange National Park on foot or by road, guests have the opportunity to see lions, zebras, impalas, kudus, wild dogs and leopards.
